Having just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Atlantic Palace 8th - 22nd July 2005, my husband and I were a bit worried after reading the previous reviews. No need to worry! The hotel was fantastic, the pool was cleaned daily - morning and evening. The rooms were cleaned daily giving new towels and bedding. The bathrooms were spotless and the rooms very spacious. The staff there are the friendliest people you could meet and do there upmost to assist you. The food is lovely and is waiter served of an evening and coffee or tea of a morning. A gala dinner dance is held every Wednesday, Italian dancers come and sing and get people to join in with the dancing - was great! There is a selection of food on the menu and this is changed daily, has to be something to suit everyone! The hotel is about a 5 minute bus ride from Sorrento town with all the bars and shops but a courtesy bus is provided by the hotel which runs at different times throughout the day. Most people tend to get the 9.30pm which will take you to Sorrento and pick you up at 11.30pm to bring you back to the hotel paying the driver, who again is lovely 1 euro per person each way. Sorrento town centre is hectic and the location of the hotel I personally think is ideal. There is a camping site opposite with a mini-market so you can buy drinks etc. In the day the poolside is quiet and relaxing, the bar by reception with an outdoor restaurant was nice, it was nice to go there to get out of the sun as the wheather was the hottest we have experienced. If you do want drinks etc by the pool the waiters are more then happy to bring them over. We cannot understand how anyone could not like this hotel, everyone who was with us on our 2 weeks thought it was great! There was a lovely atmosphere! We thought it was fantastic and are returning again next year to see everyone! We can't wait!
